"The Mall, Central Park". Crayon/ pastel, colored pencil, and pencil on heavyweight paper. Pencil titled lower left in margin; pen signed lower right in image. Pencil titled with 25 in circle notation to the reverse. Even toning, a few small foxing spots, signs of age, etc. Hoover was lithographer, illustrator and cartoonist . He was also a cartoonist for the New York Herald Tribune and the Brooklyn Eagle Newspaper, illustrating daily comic strips for a series titled Mr. and Mrs. from 1930–47. 19 7/8" x 21 7/8" paper. Includes painted wood frame with matching 25 in circle notation to cardboard backing; 22" x 26.5"
