19th Century Wedgwood black basalt urn with "Dancing Hours" pattern in relief below satyr head terminals between hanging acanthus and ribbons. With cover. Body mounted to pedestal on engine-turned cylindrical plinth with sterling silver mounts. Mounts with Birmingham sterling hallmarks. Marked "WEDGWOOD" underneath urn body, pedestal, and turned base; marks obscured by fittings. Restorations and wax coating visible to pedestal. Urn body waxed or painted over in black; possibly hiding repairs. Urn body is loose. Lid finial possibly re-glued. 12" H x 4" W at widest point. The Myra O. Karp Collection.
