Two Kusama Affandi (1907 - 1990 Indonesia) paintings of Barong. (1): "Barong Bali". Painting of Barong, a character in Balinese mythology. Painted in dynamic lines, swirls, and twists of various shades of diluted ink. Titled and dated 1977 at bottom, signed and dated at lower right corner along with "Museum Affandi" seal. Watermarked. Unframed. Some tears to paper at bottom; toning. Measures 15.5" x 21.5" approx. (2): "Rangda and Barong". Scene of Barong vanquishing Rangda with a fiery breath while the sun shines down from above. Titled at lower right, signed and dated 1977 above along with "Museum Affandi" seal. Very slight tears at lower right and right edge; toning. Measures 15.5" x 21.5" approx. Provenance: Purchased from the Affandi Museum, Yogyakarta Indonesia.
