Description:

Engraved "Thiout L'aine" and "Paris". Two oval plates supported by four square baluster posts with clockwork gears between. Pierced and engraved plate with putti head, two grotesque heads, and shells. Regulator engraved "Auance" and "Retarde". Mid 18th century. Movement mounted in late 18th/ early 19th C. gilt bronze bezel clock support with porcelain face (hand painted hour and minute numerals; minor chips and minor hairline cracks). Brass back plate with faint hand etched initials and 8959. All fit into an early/ mid 19th C. painted plaster clock case with putti figure. 1 1/4" dia.; gilt bronze bezel 2 3/8" dia.; Case 9 1/4" H x 6 1/2" W x 2 3/4" D approx.
