Suga Ranrisai Japanese Sumi Ink Scroll Painting, circa late 18th century. Inscription reads "Painted by Ranrinsai, a 76-year-old man"; Gourd-shaped seal reads "Shoboku" refering to Suga Ranrisai, also known as Suga Naoboku, a late Edo period painter. Scroll depicts cherry blossom branch. Painting measures 37x6.5" on 65x7.5" scroll with newer silk fabric backing; handsome wood scroll bar at base. Some very light staining to painting and light creasing trhoughout; scattered light stains to silk at top. Overall good condition.
