Description:

Likely Vintage Pair of Chinese silk Buddhist banners. With bats, characters, flowers and lotus embroidered in multicolored threads. Punched metal roundels border central text. Central text on both banners translates as "The Great Merciful and Compassionate Guanyin". Text on right-most banner end translates as "Auspicious days of the winter months of the Xinhai Year", most likely referring the year 1971. Text on leftmost banner end translates as "Hua Zai Tan Yong deeply respects", but is less clear. Each in excellent condition. Each measure 73" long, 13.5" across approx.
