Hawaiian landsczpe with buildings. Signed lower right. Gilded wood frame with non-glare glass. Appears in excellent condition (foxing spot upper right corner); not examined out of frame. 18.25" x 24.5" matopening; 31.75" x 37.75" frame. Vitousek moved to Hawaii in 1917, with most of her career spent as a resident of the Islands; however, she was active in California in the 1930s. Exh: Honolulu Academy of Arts, 1927,1937, 1938 (prizes); California Palace of the Legion of Honor, 1933; Calif. Watercolor Society, 1934, 1938; Honolulu Art Society, 1934 (prize); Nicholson Gallery (Pasadena), 1934; San Francisco Museum of (Modern) Art,1939 (solo).
