Description:

Japanese "Big Eye" binoculars. Pressed into service on Japanese ships during World War II. By maker Enamoto Kogaku; stamped "EK" in star to left eyepiece, "No 13 J.E.S. Neji (Japanese Engineering Standard)" below. 15 x 105mm. Alloyed metal with painted green finish; areas of finish now missing. Includes original issue trunk and extendable tripod. Dated 1942 according to plaque affixed to trunk lid. Includes two lens filters. One trunk latch unattached; piece included. Some clouding and grime to lens interior; left eyepiece appears to be crazed internally; focus rings do turn, however ring at left eyepiece very difficult. Tripod in good functional condition. Binoculars 21" long x wide approx.; tripod 32" H approx.; stands 48" H on tripod, unextended, approx.
