Description:

Hand colored textured paper large format potrait photograph mounted to mat board. Parr (1903–1983) was a full blooded Cayuse of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, a descendent of Chief Joseph, and a niece to Chief George Redhawk. In 1932, she was the first Indian woman selected as the Queen of the Pendleton Round-Up and in 1973 was inducted into the Pendleton Round-Up Hall of Fame. From the estate of Howard and Bertha Roberts, Walla Walla, Washington. Excellent condition with sharp details and bright colors. Mid 20th C. 20" x 16"; 23.5" x 19.5" frame.
