George III silver gilt mounted hand carved coconut cup. Filled base with hallmarks: JA maker's mark, George III, lion passant, and date letter of either "B" for 1797 or "R" for 1812. Insert with JA maker's mark to outside rim (missing attachment pins). Previously sold at Christie's Paris, Auction 5083 Furniture and Works of Art, Goldsmithing, European Ceramics. Lot 68, April 22, 2004. Very good condition; small ding dent to lip edge. 8.5" H.
