Description:

Salvator Rosa (after), (1615–1673, Italy). Four Figure Studies, c. 1800–1830, reengraved etchings on heavy wove paper, each sheet approx. 7 5/8” H × 9 1/8” W. A cohesive group of four early posthumous etchings after Salvator Rosa’s celebrated 17th century figurine studies, Standing Figure Beside a Plinth (Plate 14), Two Figures with a Long Staff (Plate 39), Gesturing Soldier with Two Onlookers (Plate 52), and Blindfolded Soldier with Spear (Plate 60). Age-appropriate condition with minor foxing, some corner damage and handling marks in margins. Mounting tape verso.
