Diego Rivera (1886-1957 Mexico) "Dona Luz Jimenez and Daughter" Pencil on Paper Sketch, 1926. Signed and dated lower right. Mills College Art Gallery (Oakland, CA) exhibition label on verso. This sketch was acquired by Florence Alston Swift, a San Francisco Bay Area artist, from Rivera when they became acquainted working on Work Progress Administration (WPA) commissioned work. Subsequently Ms. Swift traveled to Mexico to study with Rivera. Loose and unframed. Paper measures 15 x 10.5", matted with overall measurements of 19.25 x 14.25". Excellent condition.
