Antique copy of "In the Orphanage at Katwijk-Binnen" c. 1870-90. Large oil on canvas depicting a sewing lesson in a typical 18th-19c. Dutch interior. David Adolf Constant Artz was a 19th-century Dutch painter and collector who associated with some members of the Hague School. From 1855 to 1864 Artz trained with Johannes Egenberger (1822-1897) and Louis Royer (1793-1868) at the Amsterdam Academie. Excellent condition. 46" x 33".
