Straits Chinese Peranakan Porcelain Kamcheng Covered Jar. Probably early 20th century or slightly earlier. Made for the Straits Chinese Diaspora. Body with typical enameled design of phoenix and peony on two sides with peony flower heads between. Design of lid matches that of body, with crouching foo lion handle. In famille rose enamels with unusual green-brown enamel. Unmarked. Jar body is in very good condition; small chip to rim at underside of lid. Measures 5.5" tall; 5" across overall.
