Antique Chinese soapstone carving of an Immortal. Republic period or earlier. Figural group with immortal at center, looking down fondly at boy presenting peach of immortality. Crane stands at other side adjacent to the Immortal's pine wood staff, carrying a lingzhi fungus in it's beak. Carved from a single honey-brown stone. Some losses at edges, otherwise in good condition. Includes wood stand. Measures 4.5" H x 2.5" L x 1.5" W excluding stand approx.
