Description:

Dutch oil on oak panel depicting an interior with a figure of a woman at a fireplace and a grouping of kitchen items. No apparent signature; attributed to Hendrik Martensz Sorgh (1610-1670) . To the reverse: remnants of a red seal, stencil painted 46 IDS, paint written numbers 2466, Tentoonstelling "Het Stilleven" Kunsthandel J. Goudstikker N.V. Amsterdam 18 Febr. t/m 26 Maart 1933 label with pen written No. 295 and 2466, three pen written labels with Sorgh biography information, and masking tape piece labeled McRey. Oak frame with grease pen written 35540. 8 1/8" x 10 1/4" panel; 11 1/2" x 13 1/2" frame.
