Antique Southeast Asian ebonized hardwood armchair. Ca. late 19th century, probably Burmese, with typical peony-form flower amonst trailing leaves and stems elaborately carved throughout. Legs and shoulders composed of handcarved finials with lappets in relief in Anglo-Indian style. Apron incised with scale pattern. Chair in good condition, with expected wear. Missing one slat along seat. Includes cushion made from Sino-Tibetan textile; woven lotus petal designs. Chair measures 40" H x 20" L x 20.5" W approx.
