Circa 19th century primitive / folk art oil on canvas portrait of a Native American man standing in a landscape. Handwritten note to the reverse: The Indian's name is said to be "Squeekin' Charlie". He lived in the vicinity of Ukiah and had been in some kind of difficulty with the law. No apparent signature or date. Good condition with old canvas repair patch, minor small nicks, etc. Later vintage gilded wood frame. Canvas 30.25" x 18.25". Frame 35.75" x 23.75".
