Ornately framed oil on board depicting a white stallion, a shepherdess and a falconer. Uniform, shallow craquelure. Heavily varnished. No mark or insignia visible. Labelled "Philip Wouverman" on frame, referring to Dutch painter Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) whose stylistic signature was a white stallion. Indecipherable paper label to reverse and pencil notation reading H. Andrieu(?). Indecipherable writing on back of board. Board 12 5/8" x 14" Frame19 3/4" x 21"
