Description:

Antique Japanese Tetsubin cast iron teapot. Probably Meiji period. Well-cast scholarly retreat admist rocks and pine trees on each side, with textured pattern throughout. Bronze lid and handle with applied silver bats and lingzhi fungus. Handle inserts into two cast qilongs. Inscription in relief at back, along with seal mark at bottom. Signed by Kobun-do, a famous Tetsubin maker of the period. Good condition with signs of use and aged surface patina. Some rust to interior. Some residue to base. 7.75" height at swing handle approx. 6.25" dia. approx.
