Antique Cast Bronze Plaque. Depicting Athena Introducing the Personification of Painting into the Circle of the Liberal Arts. Designed by an artist of the school of Hans Jakob Bayr (1574 - 1628 German). Probably a 19th century Grand Tour casting. Well cast with strong detail. Drilled hole at reverse for hanging, handwritten text from previous owner below. In good condition, only some slight wear. Measures 6.25" across on both sides approx.
