Description:

4 19th century English black basalt teapots. (1): A tall footed pot with engine-turned body; acanthus leaves at spout. No apparent marks. Missing cover. Restoration to spout; production flaw at body. 6.5" H x 8.5" across from handle to spout. (2): A squat gadrooned pot. Incised "51" mark to underside. In very good condition. 5" H x 10" across. (3): A teapot with depiction of Asclepius and Hebe. Woman and child finial affixed to hinged lid. No apparent marks. Restorations and repair to spout; chip to spout. 6.75" H x 10.5" across. (4): An ornate teapot with floral garlands and shells. Faint impressed mark to base. Chips to spout. 5" H x 8" across. The Myra O. Karp Collection.
